The decision was made following the high-profile Kelp DAO hack in April 2026. Solv cited heightened security requirements as the primary reason for the switch.

Reasons for the Migration

Solv explained the decision by citing heightened security requirements. After analyzing existing bridges, CCIP demonstrated the most reliable level of protection due to its secure-by-default architecture, built-in risk management mechanisms, and proactive monitoring systems.

“Cross-chain bridges remain one of the most sensitive and high-risk areas of the industry. Unsafe platforms create systemic risk for the entire ecosystem,” the company noted.

Context After the Kelp DAO Hack

Solv’s decision follows the April 2026 Kelp DAO hack, which resulted in losses of $293M and was linked to a LayerZero-based bridge. The attack was one of the largest of 2026 and led to serious consequences for the DeFi sector, including the creation of a large bad debt position on Aave.

Kelp DAO’s team also previously announced its transition from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP.
