BlackRock drove Friday’s $132 million ETF inflow, while the Fidelity Bitcoin ETF fund moved the other way with a $4.2 million withdrawal.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted over $75.6 million in the week through July 17, their second straight weekly inflow, though the funds remained $253.5 million in the red for July, according to data from SoSoValue.
The latest gain followed a $197.4 million inflow the previous week and only partly offset the $526.6 million withdrawn during the first days of July.
10x Research, a crypto research firm, said in a Monday post on X that ETF flows may offer a faster signal of changing sentiment than surveys. 10x Research wrote:
“Without positive sentiment, prices tend to decline,” 10x Research said, calling the Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index, a widely followed sentiment gauge, a “clumsy tool” and argued that actual money entering or leaving ETFs offers a clearer signal. The analysts added:
“Nobody rang a bell at the top of the cycle in October 2025 (here); instead, the structure underneath the price action was already revealing that a bear market was about to begin.”
Bitcoin Foundation reported earlier that spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $4.7 billion in June, their worst month since launching, as Bitcoin fell to a cycle low of around $58,600.

BlackRock Carried Friday’s Inflow
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs added $136.5 million on Friday, July 17, according to data from Farside Investors, an ETF flow tracker.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust received around $136.5 million, slightly more than the industry’s total inflow.
Fidelity’s Bitcoin ETF, known as Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, moved in the opposite direction with a $4.2 million outflow, while the remaining funds recorded no flows at all.

But Fidelity played a bigger role when flows first recovered. FBTC received almost $166 million on July 2, while IBIT lost around $40 million, helping end a 10-day industry outflow streak.
BlackRock’s return may suggest that the rebound is spreading beyond the buyers that first appeared in early July. But the latest weekly inflow was still less than half the previous week’s total, while July remains negative overall.
