Hyperscale is turning part of its Bitcoin pile into construction cash and loan collateral, softening an earlier promise.
Two days after reporting that it held over 1,106 BTC▲$77,269.00, Hyperscale Data, a publicly traded AI data-center operator and Bitcoin miner, said in a press release that it had monetized approximately 100 BTC to fund its Michigan AI campus.
The company didn’t disclose when the Bitcoin was sold, the execution price or how much cash it received. The company wrote:
“Hyperscale Data believes that selectively redeploying a portion of the cash underlying its Bitcoin treasury into the Michigan Campus has the potential to create greater long-term stockholder value while preserving meaningful exposure to Bitcoin through the Company’s remaining treasury holdings.”
The sale represents 9% of the latest holdings announced by the company. Assuming the sale took place after the snapshot and no other Bitcoins were mined during this period, the company now has about 1,006 BTC in its possession.

Bitcoin Becomes Construction Money
Hyperscale also established a credit facility backed by Bitcoin with an anticipated floating interest rate of around 5%, but didn’t reveal the identity of the financier or the amount that it is able to borrow.
The company said the sale and borrowing facility will help pay for construction and equipment at its Michigan campus.
The site has a 10-year agreement to provide 20 megawatts of computing capacity to an unnamed AI infrastructure company. Hyperscale says the contract could generate more than $1.2 billion if two five-year extensions are exercised.
An Indefinite Hold Lasted Less Than a Year
Hyperscale had mined Bitcoin since 2017 and previously sold coins as they were produced to cover operating expenses. It officially declared its treasury strategy in September 2025, when it announced that it will be accumulating a total of $100 million worth of Bitcoin.
At the time, it held about 15 BTC, all earned through mining. Its first disclosed market purchase followed during the week ended Sept. 21. Two months later, Milton “Todd” Ault III, Hyperscale’s executive chairman, said the company planned on “buying Bitcoin, mining Bitcoin, and holding Bitcoin indefinitely.”
