Galaxy Digital signed a reported $75 million, 15-year naming rights deal with Texas Tech Athletics, renaming the football stadium.

Mike Novogratz’s crypto infrastructure and investments company Galaxy Digital inked a $75 million deal to secure the naming rights for the football stadium at Texas Tech University.

The 15-year agreement, announced Friday, will rename the venue Galaxy Stadium beginning with the 2026 football season.

Sports Business Journal, a sports business publication, first reported the deal’s estimated value, citing Kirby Hocutt, Texas Tech’s athletic director, though neither Galaxy Digital nor the university disclosed financial terms.

Abilene Christian University, a private university in Texas, will play Texas Tech in the opening game at the newly named stadium on Sept. 5.

Partnership Beyond Stadium Branding

Under the agreement, Galaxy Digital will become the official data center and crypto partner of Texas Tech Athletics, the university’s athletic department.

The partnership will also include Name, Image and Likeness, or NIL, opportunities for student-athletes through branded campaigns, while Galaxy Digital branding is expected to appear across the school’s sports programs through social and in-game activations.

Sports Business Journal also reported that Galaxy Digital’s logo is expected to appear at midfield, although the companies didn’t mention that detail in their announcements.

The companies said the agreement could also serve as the foundation for a broader collaboration exploring AI apps, academic research, workforce development and commercial projects tied to economic development across West Texas.

The agreement will remove the Jones name from the stadium title after nearly eight decades.
